The useful conclusions
Lower-cost hours occurred mainly overnight, although the exact window still changed by season.
The highest recurring hour was strongly seasonal: 11:00–12:00 in winter, 08:00–09:00 in spring, 18:00–19:00 in summer and 08:00–09:00 in autumn.
The lowest seasonal average was Summer at 1.22 ct/kWh; the highest was Autumn at 2.07 ct/kWh. The lower figure was 41.1% below the higher one.
The clearest negative-price period was around 13:00–14:00 in Spring, when 27.2% of covered delivery time had prices below zero.
Using these seasonal recurring averages, moving 1 kWh of flexible daily use from each season’s highest hour to its lowest would represent about €6 over the covered days in the wholesale component. This is a historical illustration, not a guaranteed bill saving.
