Website requests and server logs
When a page or API endpoint is requested, the server processes the IP address and records the request time, HTTP method and path without the query string, protocol, response status and size, and user-agent string. These records are used to keep the service secure and available, diagnose errors and prevent abuse on the basis of the operator’s legitimate interests. Logs are rotated daily and are normally kept for no more than 14 days. A relevant extract may be kept longer when necessary to investigate an incident, establish legal claims or meet a legal obligation.
Technical logs also include request duration, the app/platform/build identifier and normalized search/referral categories—not full referring URLs. Notification payloads and authorization headers are not included in the configured access log.
Mobile app requests
The official iOS and Android apps request electricity-price and market content from the kWhPrice.eu API over HTTPS. Those requests are processed and logged as described above. The apps do not require an account and do not send your contacts, precise location or advertising identifier to kWhPrice.eu.
Preferences stored on your device
The apps store your language, selected market and display preferences on your device. They are not used for tracking and can be removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it.
Notifications and review requests
Daily price alerts are optional and off by default. When you enable them, we receive a delivery token, a hashed installation identifier, your market, language, currency and units, device time zone and quiet hours. We use these data to provide your requested alerts through Apple APNs or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), not Expo’s push service. Tokens are encrypted in our database. Older Android app versions may register with Firebase before alerts are enabled. Providers also process delivery data under their own terms.
Switch alerts off in the app to revoke your subscription. The server removes the usable token when it receives your request; offline requests remain pending for retry. Device notification settings can block display immediately, but messages already sent cannot be recalled. Live subscriptions expire 90 days after their last registration. Limited disabled records and delivery history are retained for 30 days. Separate encrypted on-host notification backups expire after 30 days at scheduled cleanup; older recovery copies may remain under the previous daily, weekly and monthly rotation. Provider-held data has separate retention periods.
Review-request history stays on your device: first use, recent usage days and the last request attempt. The app may ask after 14 days and five days of use, with at least 183 days between attempts. We do not receive your rating or review text from the app. Secure device credentials may survive uninstall or backup restoration.
Cookies and tracking
The public website does not create user accounts, start application sessions, set cookies or use advertising pixels. We use existing server logs to produce aggregate statistics about website visits, app requests and app versions, to understand service use and improve reliability. Visitor counts are estimates, not exact people counts. Temporary identifiers used to group requests exist only in memory during each report and are not saved in reports; the source logs remain subject to the retention described above. This is not advertising or cross-site tracking. The server fetches prices from official market sources; visiting a price page does not connect your browser to those sources.
Email correspondence
If you email us, we process your address, message and related correspondence to answer your request, take requested pre-contractual steps where applicable, protect our legitimate interests and meet legal obligations. Correspondence is retained only as long as needed for those purposes.
Recipients
Access is limited to authorised people supporting Media Partners SIA and service providers needed to host, secure and administer the website or email. Data is not sold. It may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Providers acting for us are required to protect the data; required safeguards are used for transfers outside the European Economic Area.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. Contact support@kwhprice.eu. You may also complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate or another competent supervisory authority.
